According to Ayurveda, the whole universe made up of five basic elements(Panchamahabuthas) The five elements combine to form "Tri Doshas" i.e. Vata, Pitta, andKappha. They are the "Basic Forces" and also known as the "Pillars of Life". According to Ayurveda, sickness is due to the imbalance of any one of the three doshas.
